Grand Theft Minecart

This patch brings along rebalanced crowbar crates, and the new crowbar crates to GTM7. We've also added some all around weapon changes to freshen things up.

We made a tough decision that will benefit the economy in the long run. We have removed Tokens and all ways of obtaining them. The /tokenshop will be up until 10/15/2019 and will be disabled forever. Any unspent tokens will be automatically converted by us for an undisclosed amount. For more information about the tokens being removed, please click here.


Crowbar Crates have been changed on GTM1/GTM4. GTM7 crates have been changed dramatically as they were running a couple of versions behind, and are now up-to-date with the other GTM servers. Please note, GTM7 crates do not have Katanas as drops.

Every crowbar crate has the chance to get a new EventTag. We love the look of these tags, so make sure you flex if you're lucky enough to get one. The following tags are:
- PLAYA
- LUCKY
- GAMBLER
- HIGHR0LLA
- UNLUCKY

With Tokens in the process of being removed, we had to rebalance the payouts of these crates and...

As the title suggests, Tokens and /tokenshop are both being removed from GTM. Back in Patch 1.3.0, the voteshop was actually introduced with the intent to eventually phase out the tokenshop and tokens in general.

Tokens were first introduced to GTM several years ago now. At the time, tokens were used to purchase cosmetics and pets. However, after the removal of these cosmetics, tokens have become less and less useful and we believe now it is time to completely get rid of them.

Starting tomorrow with the next restart, Tokens will be completely removed from all Crowbar Crates, and /rewards. This means you will no longer be able to win tokens in crates, nor claim any tokens in your daily and monthly rewards.

Finally, if you have unspent tokens, note, you will still be able to access /tokenshop until October 15! After, October 15, if you have any unspent tokens, all your tokens will be converted into money using an undecided conversion rate. With that said, we encourage players to use any tokens they still have left before they are removed!

Over the past week, we have been quite busy with the recent map update for Minesantos and several other bug fixes. Most of these fixes were too small for an announcement of their own so they will be posted together with this announcement along with several other things. Lets begin, shall we.


The most obvious of the changes that we have pushed over the past week is the Minesantos map update. This map update was the single largest map update in GTM history offering a complete re haul several underdeveloped areas of the GTM map. These areas include the Highway warps, Trailerpark, Militarybase, Moria, Mountaintop, Bridge and much of the surrounding terrain!
Don't worry Sanktburg (GTM4) players. We didn't forget about you . You guys are next.

Both premium and non-premium houses in and around the effected areas also received a complete renovation. Renovating these houses without effecting player data was a serious technical challenge for both the Build Team and the staff members involved in the update.

This update took a whopping 8 hours of non-stop work to complete over the countless hours spent by the build team to actually rebuild the effected areas. Needless to say, a big shout out to the senior team members involved with the update and as well as the Build team members. This project was a massive undertaking which could not have been accomplished with out the amazing cooperative efforts of countless staff and team members.
