This debate has been going on for a while and has quieted down over the past month or so and i want to make sure that tge staff team knows that the community hasn't forgotten about it. Minigun pvp is what I and vast majority of experienced / "good" players grew up on gtm with. We were used to dying to them and honestly didn't care about them, most of us never complained about them being OP simply becayse we knew that one day we would be abke to have fun with them... that was life. Then came the day i got sponsor and Godfather, Dec. 25, 2017. I fell in love with miniguns and the style of pvp that came with them. It was fast paced, required experience and skill and was honestly extremely fun. About 2 months later that all got ruined, miniguns were turned into litteral shit and nobody used them... minigun pvp was no more and gtm2 started to see the effects. Back when minigun pvp was the thing gtm2 was almost as busy as gtm1, nowdays it's lucky to have more then 5 donators or 12 players online at a time. The link below shows GTM's daily online players, when you click on it change days to months. Https://minecraft-mp.com/server/14659/stats/ We can clearly see that iver the summer of 2017 GTM's playerbase rose dramaticly, after summer we see a small decline but then around march there is a second decline. This second decline is right around the time that miniguns were nerfed. Coincidence? I think not. I could be wrong. Earlier today i tried ground pvp for the first time in a while, honestly i loved it. Except for the fact that if i tried to use a minigun i would get destroyed by any hobo with a rifle and i would die to grenade launchers every 5 minutes. The point is that minigun pvp was enjoyable, it was cheap and competative. After the nerf gtm seems to be dying even to this day. Im fully awhere that pres is currently playing through gtm however he will never understand how fun minigun pvp was.
I literally posted something very similar a while ago. Check it out: Look at the comments. https://grandtheftmc.net/threads/weapons-that-need-to-be-fixed.7304/ But pretty much, this was already taken into consideration at a community meeting; the minigun and grenade launcher is most likely going to be restored.
Sry for the double post Yes im awhere but that was more then 3 weeks ago, we cant stop bringing it to attention or it will never get fixed.
We haven't forgotten. All weapons including but not limited to the minigun, grenade launcher, and nades will be balanced around after July, when our savior @Presidentx will be officially be under taking the GTM management. We are aware that these weapons are due for balancing and will likely be one of the first thing on priority after Prez' return. You can find more information regarding this on our discord under the community meeting text channel.
So bassicly were putting vice off until end of summer. Were putting gtm off until bassicly end of summer. Whatever devs are doong better be good.
GTM really needs some sort of test server for all of its changes. It could be open and closed by managers and admins, and Elite+ could have access to it. This would allow for future changes to be corrected if there is an issue.
I’m not really sure what you were trying to prove with the vote server statistics, that we have more players during the summer? Not really shocking. And as mentioned in almost every thread of this nature gun balances will be coming when Prez comes back from School.
We are not putting GTM off to the end of the summer. We are very busy with GTM rightnow. We even have some big upcoming things. After all that is done, we will focus us on Vice and Gun balancing. I know everyone wants the Minigun to get buffed, and we are working on it, but not on the moment.
Lets face it everyone. GTM was poppin before staff nerfed everything. It didn't help the playerbase rise at all, because the hobos who were complaining about it would always leave anyways. Killing the reason to even bother to rank up has turned GTM into a get on once and then quit server. The only thing nerfing all the guns(especially the Gusenberg sweeper and the Minigun) did was shoot down GTM's playerbase. Last summer having a premium pass to get onto full servers was actually useful. GTM1 had 200+ players on all the time, with the other GTM's following with healthy numbers. Then school started and the playerbase fell to around 100+ players on GTM, with the other GTM's still boasting decent numbers. Then the gun nerf came. Almost immediately after that the playerbase for GTM fell sharply. At this point we're lucky if we can get 50 players on GTM1. The other GTM's only have like 10 players on at a time. Denying that the big gun nerf caused this drop in player numbers is ludicrous. Even if you wanted to blame it on school, it's the middle of summer and we only have 30-70 people on GTM1. If you really want to fix GTM, bring back the old gun stats and stop caring about what hobos think when they have only played for 20 minutes and are just gonna leave anyways. One of the main reasons GTM was so big back then is because it was mean ASF. The gun stats were good and the staff knew it, so they didn't change them when some random player joined and started screaming about how someone with a minigun had killed them.
