So recently, I decided to ask the server what weapons should be fixed. The answer was clear, everyone either said that miniguns need to be buffed, or that grenade launchers need to be nerfed. To test out this theory, I decided to put both weapons to the test. Miniguns: Firstly, I'd just like to point out that the accuracy of the minigun was terrible. Because I haven't ground pvp'ed in so long, I didn't realize how bad miniguns got after all the nerfs: They were practically useless. Even at about 15 blocks of range, it was very difficult to hit a target that was walking. At about 20+ blocks of range, it is almost impossible to kill the target; and they ended up killing me first with a special carbine, a much cheaper alternative. The only time I successfully killed my target was within 3-5 blocks of range, and still, someone bullets strayed aside. Mind you, just for credibility purposes, I am not a terrible pvper and have a kill/death ratio of 6.2. Conclusion: For the first time, I actually feel bad for miniguns. They used to be the most overpowered weapon and now they are made complete trash. I feel like we need somewhat of a balance in between the overpowered and completely trash. I think we could possibly return the accuracy of the minigun while lowering the bullets/damage per second. Grenade Launcher: On the other hand, grenade launcher became super overpowered. Credits to MostlyIcy, we decided to head over to Highway 2 to give it a go. To our surprise, the radius of the explosion of the grenade, upon impact, was 9 blocks. Meaning, the diameter of the explosion was an incredible 18 blocks wide. Add the range of the grenade launcher on top of that and it becomes an extremely overpowered weapon with a potential range of about 18+ blocks with, as I said, a damage zone of 18 blocks in all directions upon impact. Edit: As Owendog77 mentioned in the comments, no one can escape a grenade launcher as the constant knockback could also be used to draw players in. Conclusion: Not much to be said here. We already know that the grenade launcher is extremely OP and I feel like the radius of the explosion can be halved. I would nerf the range of the launcher too but that can be left alone as it is not as OP as the explosion. If felt needed, maybe the range can be reduced by like two blocks.
