Chat Filter
General Information
The Chat Filter is a way for you to censor explicate content in the GTM chat, Its purpose is to create a friendlier and less toxic chat for players who prefer a cleaner and more family friendly chatting enviorment.
Unlike other server-enforced moderation systems, this chat filter is completely user-side meaning it only affect what you see. you are simply choosing whether your client sensors the explicit words.
This system helps limit the toxicity in GTM's chat. Whether you're streaming, recording videos, or simply want a less toxic chat, the Chat Filter makes it possible to adjust your chat environment to your liking.
How to Toggle the Chat Filter
Some players dont mind seeing uncensored messages, while others prefer a more family friendly chat. That's why the Chat Filter can be toggled at any time through your preferences.
To change your filter settings simply:
- Type /prefs in chat.
- Find the chat Filter preference in your menu
- Click to enable to disable the filter.
When enabled explicit language will be automatically censored in your chat, but when disabled you'll see all the messages in their original form.
Examples
For example if the word "what" was censored it would show like this for players who have the Chat Filter enabled:
Original message: Hey, what is up!
Censored: Hey, **** is up!

Q: Will this feature automatically be enabled when I first connect?
A: Yes this feature will be enabled when you first connect.

Q: What if I see a message that is explicate with this enabled?
A: Contact a MOD+ and they will instantly add this word to the censorship list.

Q: Does this mean that I'm allowed to say derogatory terms, since the message will be blocked for those who dont want to see it?
A: No, while there is now a chat filter this does NOT mean that you can use derogatory term since they are still against the rules.
