Hey guys. So maybe this patch doesn't sound like a very big deal from its name "Bugs & Improvements" but internally this was a huge patch! Although true that there were no "big things" added in this patch, truth is, we fixed dozens upon dozens of long-standing bugs and issues as well added minor improvements here and there. In fact, this update fixed over 90% of all known bugs! There are lots of fixes and improvements for me to cover so let's get started without further due...! We are starting this Patch by listing all the improvements to game mechanics during this patch. 1. Weapon improvements & changes: We have re-coded much of the block detection mechanics when shooting a weapon. This allows for significantly better block hitbox detection and even fixes the infamous "glass pane bug" where players were unable to shoot weapons when inside glass panes. When shooting leaves, 50% of bullets will now make it through per leaf block 2. Voting Improvements: Voting is no longer caps-sensitive. Feel free to use weird capitals when voting now. You will still get your rewards! Improvements to offline voting! When voting offline, you will now still receive your voter kit on joining GTM. In order to encourage players to vote, we will now occasionally send out special voting offers to select players. 3. Trashcan Improvements: It is now possible to sell Player Skulls for a fixed price of $10,000 in the Trashcan. We have added a "Super Trashcan" into the PvP world. You can sell your items for 7.5% more money right in the PvP world. But, be careful, people in the warzone tend to be less than friendly . On Sanktburg (GTM4) & Minesantos (GTM1) the Super Trashcan is at -207, 73, 337 near the Bank Warp inside McDonald's. On New Mineport (GTM7) the Super Trashcan is at -71, 66, 120 inside the Tim Hortons between the Docks and the SunShineBoulevard warps. 4. Performance / Lag Improvements: Player skulls in GUI menus received significant performance improvements. These menus were actually responsible for most of the "big" lag spikes on GTM. Trash cans were internally optimized to have almost no impact on performance. Also improved the performance of other menus in general. 5. Larry the Help Bot: For those of you who may not know, for the past few months, we have been playing around with "Larry the Help bot". Larry (who is Gary's brother but let's not get into the family tree) is a bot dedicated to answering Help questions with predefined replies. Larry is a part of our commitment to ensure as many of /help questions as possible get answers and that any players needing help receive help. This patch we improved his question detection and answer algorithms. 6. Phone & GTM Items: You can now Press Q while hovering over your Phone to call your vehicle. How convenient! Add GTM Items including the phone, GPS, backpack, ammo pouch now have lore showing how to use the item. 7. Version Compatibility Improvements: Since 1.15+ changed flight mechanics, you can fly down faster on 1.15+ while sneaking. This allows 1.15+ players in a Jetpack a distinct advantage. As a result, 1.15+ will now be slowed down while sneaking in a Jetpack. Since 1.14+ removed chests larger than a double chest, Elite+ using 1.14+ will now be told to use a lower version when trying to open their backpack until we have a more permanent fix. Players trying to join GTM on an unsupported version will now receive a message explaining why they can't connect. 8. Net Launchers Rebalance: You can now net players on the ground again using Net launchers. Per community feedback, the ability to net "grounders" received a nerf. For instance, Net launchers will no longer apply Blindness or Weakness when hit. 9. Event Tag improvements: Active event tags will now display an "enchanted" effect to act as a visual indicator of which tag you currently have equipped. If you don't have a certain event tag, it will now be displayed as a barrier item. 10. Cop Mode Changes: Cop Mode's arresting rewards were buffed. Arresting 1-star players will now give $5,000, 2-star will give $10,000, 3-star will give $20,000, 4-star will give $50,000, and $100,000. It is no longer possible to arrest players by melee-ing them with a stun gun. This change can arguably belong in the bug fix section. You can now use the Nightstick to arrest players. However, you must hit the target player 3 times with each successive hit adding negative potion effects. 11. Kits & Rewards Rebalance: Replaced grenades with the Nightstick in the Cop kit (due to the above changes). Added food to donator kits (WOW FINALLY AM I RIGHT?) Buffed the voter kit! (NOW GO VOTE OR BAN) The daily rewards in Phone>Rewards or /rewards will now give $10,000 daily, and $50,000 if you get lucky! 12. Other minor changes: Players who log off in combat will now properly be dishonored. (LOL Cucumbur NOOOOB) You can no longer spank the daddies. What do I mean by that? Who knows. Riot shields can now be fixed using /fix (or /fixall). It is no longer possible to use items from the Xmas event (with the exception of candy canes) outside the Xmas event. This created unintended bugs (such as being able to pick up blaze powder when a Santa's Naughty list was used on you). Added the Kevlar vest to the armor shop. Added the MGs, RPS, and Grenade launcher to the weapon shop. You can no longer open Crowbar crates remotely using /crate open. The Wingsuit fuel usage algorithm was improved fixing Wingsuit fuel-related bugs. Wingsuit fuel usage was also generally increased however after community feedback, we slightly reduced back the fuel usage. Several other internal improvements which are either staff or developer-related. Added elevator music in support wait room. This section is long. Typing this out makes me cry. Plz send help. - Net Launchers can no longer shoot through walls. - Fixed an ammo duplication bug when switching between weapons of the same type. - Fixed a bug where you could bypass the weapon use cooldown delay when switching between different weapons of the same type (e.g. Heavy Sniper and Sniper Rifle). - Players can no longer teleport to themselves using /tpa or /tpahere. - Fixed a bug where arresting other players would sometimes not work. - Fixed players being able to arrest staff in god mode. - Fixed drug effects persisting even after you die. - Fixed a bug where you could use wingsuits without fuel. - Fixed event tags not paginating properly (so you could not view all of your tags). - Updated the discord link in /links. - Fixed a /trade bug where sometimes if you updated the trade after one party accepts already, the trade menu wouldn't reset. - Fixed a /trade bug where you could sometimes put items on the other player's inventory. - Fixed players not being able to access trash cans while sneaking (such as when they are sneak-glitched!) - Fixes house menu's guest pagination being broken (where if you had more then 20 guests to your house, you could not view them all). - Fixed Premium+ not being able to join full servers as advertised to them on the purchase of their rank. - Fixed a bug where if you switched to cop mode while gliding, you could get stuck gliding (like freaking superman). - Fixed a bug where Jetpackers could still use the jetpack (if they spammed space hard enough) after getting stunned. - Fixed a bug where Cops could not stun a Jetpacker if they were in Hitman mode. - Fixed a bug where sometimes after using the casino slot machines you couldn't pick up items. - Fixed the spawn display weapon shops on Minesantos & Sanktburg as well as improved the Weapon display shops so it is now much easier to buy a weapon (at least when aiming correctly) on all GTM servers. - Fixed a bug where shooting Net Launchers, placing/remove bongs, placing/removing cocaine blocks would cause a block update, and sometimes destroy parts of the GTM map. - Fixed cop tracker being broken and not working at all. - Removed a glitched menu in the hub menus. - Fixed a bug that allows spectators to ride vehicles (such as after dying). - Fixed a bug that allowed spectators to destroy vehicles (via collisions). - Fixed a bug where if a net launcher was fired right at server restart, the webs would stay even after the restart. - Fixed a bug where if you were teleported into lava, combat protection would not negate the damage. - Fixed a bug where gang size was not updating after a player uses /rankup (or buys a donator rank) - Attempted to fix a bug where sometimes you would be stuck in combat even after you died at spawn. If this bug for some reason is still not fixed, please report it immediately. - Fixed an issue where the listed buy price in the food shop was actually supposed to be the selling price. - Fixed a bug where the minigun would randomly shoot out of guns that weren't even miniguns especially after you just died. - Fixed a bug with proximity mines which allowed cops to make a player wanted (even if they didn't attack them) by throwing proximity mines at them. - Fixed a bug where there was a small amount of time after you log back into GTM where you were in the war zone and could be killed (before eventually getting teleported back to spawn). Players will now be teleported to spawn BEFORE the log off so when they log back in, there won't be a time when you can get killed! - Fixed weapon slowdown breaking so you would not get slowed down when holding a weapon. - Fixed food stacking breaking so you could no longer restack food. - Fixed a bug where Cops could log out of combat in Cop mode but keep their Cop mode after logging back in. - Several other console error fixes or other staff related fixes which we can not list here.
