Patch 1.6.1 was mostly centered around improvements to Staff Utilities and improving GTM's Anticheat: Gary. In fact, this patch completely recoded many parts of Gary that will allow future updates to made much more easily while also adding new features here and there. Please note these patch notes will not cover all the specific changes made that were made to help Staff members but expect us to do an overall better job when dealing with those pesky cheaters . Besides Gary, this update fixed a good amount of bugs and issues while also adding minor tweaks and improvements here and there. Finally, these Patch notes will mention the new rule change where we are now officially making scamming punishable. Once again the improvements listed here are not going to be a complete list of changes and improvements made to Gary but rather only those that affect players. So let's get started! AntiVPN Improvements: Gary's AntiVPN patched a few minor VPN bypasses this update. But more importantly, we have now begun collecting data pertaining to IP addresses that over time will help us continue to patch more VPN bypasses and allow us to prevent cheaters using dynamic IPs to bypass their bans. The AntiVPN also made it slightly harder for cheaters to find bypasses to our AntiVPN system by banning users trying to connect to GTM with multiple different VPNs in close succession. Chat Filter: Gary's chat filter systems have also become somewhat more advance allowing Gary to detect more types of spam. We worked on fixing both false positives and false negatives pertaining to the chat filter. General code improvements also make future changes and improvements to the chat filter much easier to add. Health Spoofer: Gary is now able to send fake health packets in order to spoof a player's health. This means both Hacked Clients and mods with any sort of damage indicators have all been rendered useless! Other Improvements: More and better detection systems added to detect more types of cheats faster. Oh and of course your favorite things... tags! Here are some of the new tags we added this patch. Expect some of these to start appearing in the vote shop soon. Other quality of life changes and general improvements in this patch include the following: Added a convenient /colors command that will display all in-game color codes. Arresting will now award XP. The XP award will be scaled based on level difference like kill XP however the XP from arrests is slightly higher then kill XP. Adjusted XP requirement for leveling up. It is now harder to level up in earlier levels (but less harder in later levels). The overall XP required to level up from 0 to 100 remained (almost) the same. The minigun range was nerfed from 50 to 42 blocks. Based on feedback from the previous community meeting, the Gusenberg damage was buffed from 2.4 to 2.6. Bank upgrades also received changes. Banking levels now only allow users to have $5,000,000 for free instead $10,000,000. Bank upgrades were also made slightly more expensive and now cap at $250,000 per bank level instead of $200,000. The Hub's Elytra Parkour leaderboard will now display the top 5 players instead of just the top 3. Updated and improved Larry the Helpbot. Larry the Helpbot should now be able to more accurately and more frequently answer Help questions asked in /help. Current statistics suggest that Larry is now answering about 50% more help questions than before [Shout out to @Keiinmal for this achievement]. Players whose data is not loaded will now not be able to move to prevent them from being able to do unwanted actions while their data is not loaded. Because of this, if you try to move while you data is still being loaded, you will receive a message saying "Loading your data" and to relog if you data fails to load with in 30 seconds. The Anti-Kill Farming protection was made more lenient and is now much less likely to detect legit players as "unfairly farming kills". /tokens will no longer display your tokens (so you don't have to cry about how many tokens you didn't get too loose and can just forget about them ). Added a beta system that will allow admins to detect when a player is in possession of glitched items. So yall better hide your glitched items because we are coming for you , GREATLY optimized weapon sounds internally almost doubling the performance of weapons on GTM. In other words, less lag. Yay! Fixed a bug where players were not able to equip their Spoiled-Brat tags. Fixed a bug where players were able to bypass /ignore and messaging preferences using /gmsg. Fixed a bug where the Spoiled-Brat achievement did not always credit players their purchases or credited duplicates. Fixed a bug where links in /alert were not clickable. Fixed a bug where players on 1.16 could not get the GTM resource pack even with /rp. Fixed ugly vanilla death messages that popped up in chat where a player killed themselves. Fixed the landlord achievement requiring 1 extra house then was intended. Fixed the Witness achievement not properly working. So the next time @Presidentx you all can truly witness his greatness! Fixed a rare bug with voting involving people who may have had the same username on GTM. A few months ago, we put it up for a vote whether the community thinks scamming should be allowed. Based on those results we are finally implementing the no scamming rule! The new scam rule has been added to https://grandtheftmc.net/rules and stats as follows: Spoiler: General Scamming Rule Scamming is when two parties agree on a deal but one of the parties does not follow through their end of the deal. General scamming DOES NOT include "team betraying" or "house raiding". This rule is specific to single deals involving the trade of items, in-game money, housing, or other goods. Please note if you wish to report another player for scamming, you must have sufficient proof to show that the deal took place and that the other player scammed you. To elaborate, the rule states that any type of scamming involving the trade of items, in-game money, or houses is not allowed. This rule DOES NOT protect you from being house-raided by people you add to your premium house, nor does it prevent backstabbing in teams. This rule is specific only to trading! In the case you are scammed, you may now report players for "General Scamming" at https://grandtheftmc.net/support-tickets/open under the "Player Reports" section: Please note staff can not and will not help if you do not provide proof of you getting scammed! If the provided proof is sufficient you will be refunded whatever item(s) you were scammed or something of equivalent value by an admin. Players doing the scamming will not only lose the items they scammed but will also receive a punishment in the form of a ban. Few final thoughts I would like to mention. I like the nerf on the mini and buff on the gusen as it will allow a bit of a new meta to form of which I have already come up with different ideas to adapt to and I would like to mention one thing that I think should be nerfed which is the meth pipe as it allows people to have 14 hearts of health, speed 2 and resistance which I think is honestly just overpowered and that's why most people in ground pvp use it because it is so viable with no consequences, I think it needs to be nerfed heavily to where maybe it gives 1 extra heart and the resistance and like speed 1 because it is extremely overpowered. - hydrakiller9
