Hey guys, it’s me. I decided I owed it to everyone to explain where I’ve been this past few months, being absent from GTM and all. While unlikely, if some of you are angry or confused about my absence, let me borrow 2 minutes of your time and explain. I’ll start from the beginning. Like waaaaay way back. Sometime in June, 2017, I quit an old GTM server I had played for years. It wasn’t updated or staffed and things had fallen apart. You would rarely see 30 people on the whole server. That’s why I left and came to GTM. Gun PVP in Minecraft has been my forte. Minutes after joining GTM for the first time, I knew it was my new thing. Finessing with the Gusenberg, dodging RPG shots, engaging in battles with enemy gangs, selling and doing drugs, raiding chests and assassinating players in Hitman mode. I loved it, and I was good at it. After 9 or 10 months of playing, I had made it big. I had 4 million dollars, 4 houses, and 6 million dollars in gear to my name. I was rocking a decent 1.8 KD, and was co leader of the best gang in GTM, the Sponges. Things were going good. And then the weapon rebalance happened. The 2 guns crucial to GTM PVP, the Gusenberg Sweeper and the Minigun, were heavily nerfed. Naturally, this lead to outcry from the community of OG players, who had worked countless hours to obtain hundreds of these guns and the skills needed to play with them. Many threatened to leave GTM if the balances weren’t revoked. The balances were left in place, and nearly the entire community of OGs left GTM, many of my friends among them. I tried to stay and push through the challenges, but to no avail. In my opinion, GTM had melted down to a motley PVP experience of simply shooting straight at people with rifles. GTM also sunk into a depression, and the player count lowered significantly and didn’t recover. In the meantime, Vice S3 was postponed. So, with nothing left for me to do, I left. For 6 or 7 months I was absent, and rarely hopped on to try to get back in to GTM, to no avail. I had effectively “quit”. As many of you know, there is another part to this story, regarding myself and a staff member named MixLogic, which I will refrain from going into much detail about, but will still give you an idea of what happened. What was supposed to be a formal and polite movement failed. Insults were fired, people were accused and blamed, and it all fell apart, resulting in what I would consider, a period of “civil war” in GTM, which ended poorly. The whole thing is what you would call a tragedy, and I hold myself to blame. So I would like to apologise. So I guess this is goodbye. Thank you GTM, for giving me the best year of gaming in my short life. Thank you to all my teammates and friends who stuck by me in tough spots and hard times. Thank you to all the members of The Sponges who made me feel like I was a part of something. You may not see me on GTM, but I hope I’ll still be there. My memory at least. Adios -IanPeru
Your history is basicly the exact same as mine, except you were smart and quit 2-3 months before me. Also talkimg about this period of "civil war" shouldn't be punishable... its kinda what the forums are for. Either way you quit so who cares if you hurt somebody's feelings. Also... i need a partner for vice S3, whenever it releases. <3 U ian!!!!!
