Hello there, Just an update on Vice Season 3 - unfortunately it has been postponed. The team (now a smaller size than what it was a couple months ago), needs to really focus on GTM to grow it. This will be the priority over the next couple of months, meaning that Vice will not be a focus. Once summer has settled down, the team plans to take a good look at Vice, and pump some life into it. As such, the server will stay up, but Season 3 will not begin for the foreseeable future. Onto the second part of this announcement.. I joined this great community at the end of summer last year. It's been a rollercoaster of a ride, and I'm happy to have been able to do that alongside each and every one of you. I've had an opportunity to further my career that I cannot give up, and as such, have decided to move on. Next chapter, I suppose. The team already has plans, so as far as you - the player - is concerned, me leaving does not negatively impact the server! I'd love to keep in touch. Please feel free to add me as a friend on Discord (Jed#1234), and just say 'hi'. For the last time; Thanks for reading, Good bye!
Im really upset about these announcments coming together because one 100% deserves a dislike and the other 100% deserves a like! Paraldon you will definately be missed very much by the community!! However we were told by the senior staff team the new season would start on monday, now were being told we have to wait several months!?!? Its called fucking deadlines, and its embarassing that you cant meet a deadline that you set for yourself. You have all proven to be pretty good at your jobs however this event signifigantly goes against your favor.
Ouch... whiles it not wrong of you to be mad(I'm mad too), I think your taking it a tiny-tiny-bit to far.
GTM is a very real business existing in a harsh world, our managers are managers of a business and we the players are consumers. I have never heard a business announcing a products release date then announcing that they will postpone the product several months so that they can focus on improving another. Dont get me wrong I like and play GTM more then vice and completely understand that summer is the busy season for new players, however i also play vice and now have to wait several months for the new season. Every time i play vice there is at least 1 new player online, during the offseason (now) i log on every once in a while just to help people. 2 days ago i helped 7 new players get started in 1 hour. That's an unimaginable ammount of new players on vice every single day that will most likely quit both because of ded servers and lack of motivation (there work and time doesn't mean anything) Nowdays if gtm2 is dead (50% of the time) and i dont really feel like helping people on vice i simply go play !*%^%×- (Not GTM) While my wording and tone may not be adequit for the message im trying to send they are the truth. Honestly i liked vice S2 and just to be able to play vice for the purpose of trying to win sounds much better then waiting a couple months on an update. I think the best solution would be to start S3 this upcoming monday (1 week later then planned) and have it the same as S2, then S4 could be crammed with new content and GTM would be thriving with new players. I just realized that i wasted 20 minutes of my life just so that i could waste more of it later.
I have never wished I could climb into my computer and slam my face into the agree button than I do right now.
"i have never heard of a buisness announcing a deadline for something and then postponing it" lol thats funny do you live under a rock with internet access and a computer? Its not uncommon for buisnesses to postpone products when they don't believe they are up to standard or for "other" reasons. In fact its also not uncommon for businesses to completely stop a product from being released after they already said it would be released. I get why you may think this is uncommon though because usually this happens to "smaller" products that don't end up receiving much attention. But, the simple truth is that Vice isn't ready. And, its impossible to please the entire community we release it WITH BUGS and half the community us unhappy, or release it without bugs and half the community is unhappy.
ok, so this is 2 x very sad messages. Jed, pity you're leaving us so soon, but moving to a new chapter in you're career is a good thing, so good luck with that! Anyways, for us Vice players this is kind of heartbreaking and worrying. Some people in my last giveaway even bought vice cheatcodes to be all buffed for the new season... I really wish there could have been some middle way. Like at least regenerate the map and all money and stuff. and then make a mini summer season. I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't really care that much about the bugs. and new people they wouldn't even know the difference. It could even be without prizes and let the community think of ways to make it competitive. (like my giveaway gave a lot of extra prizes to gtm/vice players) and like owendog says. If I'm online I normally teach about 5 new people the basics. So a regenerated map and money could sure blow some life into vice
Vice is by no means a "Small Product" it has just as much advertising and potential as gtm. You cant measure a products importance before the release because it simply hasn't been released to consumers yet, therefore there is no public opinion or even a basis for one. I have heard of businesses that completely stop the release of products because that product doesnt quite meet safety standards however vice is different. You openly stopped the release of vice so that you could develope gtm... theres a difference between gtm and vice. if you have to postpone a GTM update 1 month nobody will care enough to actually say much about it, why... because they can still play and all there time actually means something. Vice on the other hand is empty of knowledgable players because we know that no matter what we do it doesn't mean anything. You guys told the community that it would be released monday, now you postponing several months which means you could (are) missing out on HUNDREDS, maby THOUSANDS of new players.
I was biting my lips while reading this @peraldon , like you know i already knew of this before the GTM community did... And i felt extremely bad about it. Tomorrow will be the day you're leaving, which will be a hard day for all of us... I hope we will keep in touch jeddy <3
Peraldon, Without you, a lot of things wouldn’t have been accomplished. You managed to stay organised even in the most chaotic of times. Your dedication and management was simply amazing, and you were always there on the ups and downs of GTM. For this, I thank you, and I’m sure I can say on behalf of the community, that you will be missed. Thanks for everything. <3
I . Vice is a hugely revolutionary gameplay, that if capitalized upon successfully, would bring in truckloads of new players. If the map was just reset and an un-official season put in place, Vice could bring in people and money consistently without need for much maintenance, allowing staff members to devote their time to GTM. I'm not new to helping people on Vice. I can personally say the numbers Micatchu and Owendog77 are describing are legit. I once built a MASSIVE base to help new players, and I almost filled it up the day it opened. I would like to say I helped over 60 new players learn how to profitably farm in Vice, in that base ALONE before it was raided. Ian's Noob Help Base: https://imgur.com/H9SrHIk And while I can understand staff wanting to postpone the Vice S3 start to work on the main aspect of the GTM server, it is kind of disappointing to learn that it was delayed almost 2 months when it was promised much sooner. Most Players on Vice literally burnt all their money(I blew up 70 iron blocks and 5 diamond blocks with an RPG) in celebration of Vice S2 ending and S3 starting soon, and I could understand if any of them were extremely put off when they read this announcement.
