Hi all, JDSmagic here. Newer players probably won’t recognize me. Why? I quit. But I could probably get back into GTM if it were more interesting. Here are my suggestions: So like many others I’ve recently started playing Fortnite. For anyone who hasn’t, I’ll explain how the minigun works: you hold down the fire button and after a brief charge period you can let go and shoot a big burst of rapid firing ammo. You do not have to reload this weapon like normal, the startup charge period is what takes the place of reloading. Now I’ll explain how to fix Miniguns: Just increasing or decreasing the damage of all the guns in this game isn’t going to change much. After enough time, the best few weapons will be found and with that, people will complain and we will need new balances. At the moment it appears that the goal of the development team is to try to make all weapons fire rate, damage, clip size, accuracy, and range all balance perfectly so all 5 of these stats can still vary without one weopon being the best. But what if they changed the mechanics, rather than the usual “buff damage, buff range, nerf firing rate” or whatever. I’m suggesting we borrow mechanics from Fortnite. Let me explain: the XP bar is unused at the moment, (I think? I haven’t played GTM in a while.) so why not make the XP bar a charge system for the Minigun? Charge system! As you hold right click, it will charge up the XP bar while also increasing the number displayed above the XP bar. If a full bar is 300 shots, then as the bar fills up, the number will increase accordingly. So once the bar is halfway, the number will be 150. When the bar is three quarters full, it will say 225. Or if it’s 3/10 full, it will say 90. You get the idea. Wherever you let go, it will start decreasing the bar at a certain rate (both the charge rate and decrease rate could change if we are in need of balances at any time) and firing at the same time. If you fill the bar without letting go, it will start decreasing automatically- you can’t hold it full. This will make it so you can’t be ready to fire at any second, like the old minigun. I also think you shouldn’t be able to let go until it’s at least 1/4 full- letting go super early would basically make the “charging gives other players a moment to react” concept completely useless. Doing so would make it automatically charge up to minimum before shooting. I actually think the old, unnerfed, unbuffed, version of the Minigun’s DPS, accuracy, and range could work here. Yes, it can melt a player in a second or two, but now, you can’t just fire as soon as you see someone, giving the other player a moment to counter or to hide. Now how to fix GTM: Change more weapons to be like this. Right now we only have a few unique types of weapons. We have Melee, shotguns, snipers, explosives, RPGs, net launchers, grenade launchers, (unique because gravity affected) homing launchers (they are unique because of the lock mechanic) and EVERYTHING ELSE. Seriously, that’s pretty lame. In that one big category we have MGs, SMGs, Assault rifles, pistols - at least 15 guns, I’m sure. Make some of the weapons in that big category unique! Make them viable! Giving them custom mechanics is required at this point. Believe it’s or not, I’ve spent about 40 minutes typing this out and trying to make it clear. If I worded something in a confusing way, PLEASE let me know. I truly think this is a great idea. Maybe I will have a good reason to come back very soon? Also, answer the poll on what you think of the minigun change. I think it’s needs work, and the numbers DEFINITELY need changing. I used the example of 300 shots as a full charge, but that can vary. As much as then Devs have screwed up, I’m still willing to trust them to figure out the numbers.
I personally dont think this will be a good option, however this sort of thing has been suggested in the past and this is the best version ive seen. Devs dont always know best
Lol I didn’t mean that at all. What I meant was I trust them to chose the right numbers. They obviously don’t know best, given the current state of GTM. They really gotta get their shit together.
As of this current moment weapons are balanced fine, miniguns could use a tiny buff to accuracy but other than that there perfect. Most of the time presidentx and the managers/admins decide on how to buff/nerf weapons, the devs just do what there told.
Well the fact that your playing on a server shows that they clearly know what there doing, we may not agree with it but the ultimate goal of the admins/managers is keeping the server alive and running. I dont want to offend anybody but when you say they dont know anything your showing severe disrespect to the people who make this server function.
I quit in January because of how bad it is. /seen me. Last time I wasn’t on was to give someone stuff anyway.

I would have given you a more in-depth response if it wasn’t for your disrespect. But I’ll just keep it simple we aren’t changing the mechanics of the minigun to do this.
