switching from gtm5 to gtm1 I have this issue. I've noticed many hackers on gtm1 that are godfathers which is really sad and haven't been caught. I've requested several staff to ss them but, when they asked they were denied by the hacker. Obviously they're hacking that's why they wouldn't ss you. I think this rule of denying ss should be changed as people who hack can just say no to ss. The rule is "if you request for ss by staff the player can deny the ss" pretty sure that's the rule. Hope this changes.
I'm happy that there is a rule like that, why would you SS every single person that is hacking, it costs time and some people want their privacy. Just record those hackers next time and report it on the forums.
You can also try to get a staff member to spectate them using /help, most players just say in chat "(staffname) this person is hacking can u spectate them" which results in a toggle. So you could msg staff the player name and the gtm server. Know this, they can't toggle forever xD
As a staff member, I would like to add some input to this. We generally rarely SS, unless it is for special circumstances. This is for quite a number of reasons. Firstly, it is simply pointless, as if we watch a player enough who is hacking, we can get suitable proof without having to go through the trouble of setting everything up. Secondly, if we were going to actually implement screensharing, it would be a pain in the ass to train every single staff member on how to SS correctly, as there is a lot of aspects to screenshare successfully. Finally, it just doesn't suit the style of server that GTM is. Screensharing is mostly for competitive arena PVP servers, where cheating is often covered up heavily, through ghost clients, and in my opinion, ghost clients are very rarely used on GTM, meaning when we do find a cheater, such as a killaura hacker, they are very blatant (at least in my experience).
sometimes when they're not blatant people don't really record and then when we get out our recording devices they probably wouldn't do what they did again
@Chirag Yes but once a hacker always a hacker i have tought people to SS and even when people delete there hacks completely i always catch them back...hacking once again, some of my best staff have found people putting hack clients in there system32 folder (stupid, unless you wanna have a chance in breaking your pc) but they always hack again. so just record
I understand your frustration with hackers. But SS is unnecessary. If someone is truly hacking, the staff (if given enough time to spectate) will ban them. I know there are a lot of times when staff should be there but are not. But it's not like we have 150 staff members. When the staff aren't there, I just get out a screen recorder and start recording. It's a pain but it's worth it. But SS is just unnecessary. People can remove any trace of their hacks very easily. I had Wurst and when I deleted it, it took me under 10 seconds. SS would just be a joke.
lanPeru it all depends on how the helpop's work, if they are not capable of handle it or lack of activeness they get demoted.
Admins and Managers are the only rank that are allowed to “demand” a screenshare, all other ranks are mainly supposed to get their evidence from other players or spectating
That's the reason gtm is hiring more staff and if they don't respond, soon or later they will be punished. Take into account that you can always record, that way u have proof even if none responds send the video to a higher staff ranked position they know what they are doing. I recommend trying the discord.
I highly disagree with this, always bring hacker videos to Mods first. Admins and managers are always working on things and hacker videos trouble them a lot. If you have any issues always try to go to someone who is there to help with that issue, players have a tendency to talk to the highest rank they see
