How does thy visa

So someone asked me how do you use visa gift card at checkout? So I say “I don’t know let me check” So I ask in /help but no staff are on. Since my computer broke and won’t be fixed till this weeekend I wanted to ask how do they check out with one since it says in the kit in store that visa works. Also can you move this thread if this is the wrong place.

 

You redeem the card. I think it has a code or smthing?

 

it should be a code on the back of the card as haydar said, you might have to scratch a protective coating.

i would expect you enter the code where it asks for the card number.

 

They know that but on the checkout if you were to buy something they can’t figure it out

 

Yeah, with visa gift cards, the currency in the card has to be redeemed and activated (usually done from where you got the card) then you then have to put the number on the card (its a long number just like for any other credit/debit card) remember to also check the balance of the card incase (you can do this in the official visa site) then you just redeem it as if you where making a purchase, but you will have to fill the data form using the detailes from the card, sometimes you’ll directly have to redeem the cards currency (again done through visa’s official site) and then you just put it in a account used for the visa (some country’s will require to put it in a bank account) and from there you will the detailes as normally.
So it depends on the sort of giftcard that the person has.

You enter it as a normal debit / credit card.

 

All it says is mollie and PayPal

 

Okay they figured it out but it won’t register and they went to visa site and registered and didn’t work

 

_Flaming_Phoenix that must be because either the card is invalid or the giftcard has no currency in it or thy just didn’t accept the terms and conditions xD
